Laburnum Primary School Info

Located in Blackburn in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, Laburnum Primary School was established in 1964, and in the ensuing 40 years has consolidated itself as a school with an established reputation for offering high standards of excellence in education. Since 1995 the school has experienced rapid growth, resulting in it being the largest primary school in the Whitehorse Network. Situated in Janet Street, Blackburn, the school is set in an attractive bushland setting which flows naturally into the parkland of Blacks Walk, a part of the Blackburn Creek Lands.

With a current teaching staff of 38 and an enrolment of approximately 645 children, divided into 28 classes from Prep to grade 6, excellent programs are provided in the eight Key Learning Areas. In addition, we deliver specialist programs in Visual Arts, Music, Library, Physical Education, Languages Other Than English (Italian), Reading Recovery, and Integration.
